WELCOME …….

Glasthule Counselling & Psychotherapy, established by Sylvia Rowe, offers a respectful, confidential space for adults in which to discuss issues of concern or crisis with an understanding therapist.

The premises is conveniently situated on Seafield Road in south county Dublin, just off the N11, not far from UCD and the former Montrose Hotel. Glasthule Counselling & Psychotherapy is close to bus stops on the Stillorgan Road and is a ten minute walk from Booterstown Dart Station on the Rock Road.

WHY COUNSELLING & PSYCHOTHERAPY?

At certain times in life we may find that our usual ways of coping and interacting in situations are not working for us. We may be coping with a crisis or having difficulty making decisions around current problems. We may feel deeply distressed, confused, angry, fearful, stuck or overwhelmed.

A counsellor listens with care and explores issues with a view to the client making sense of what is going on. Support is given to enable someone to move towards finding different ways of relating to their difficulties. Counselling explores both thoughts and feelings.

Psychotherapy is a deeper exploration of the whole person. The client - therapist relationship is the basis for this process. It may involve exploring the patterns of relating we developed in early life and the impact these have in our current life and relationships. Psychotherapy raises self-awareness. It supports us in the choices we make particularly in how we relate to others and in how we relate to the different aspects of ourselves.

If this feels like the right time for you to make an appointment, please call to discuss further, with no obligation, or see the Contact page of this website.
